RedEdge-P Dual Upgrade Kit Assembly

Thank you for your purchase!

These instructions show how upgrade your MicaSense Stand Alone RedEdge-P Red to RedEdge-P DUAL with either or Blue or Green Sensor.

Warning: This kit is not intended for any other RedEdge models other than the RedEdge-P. Damage will occur if any other RedEdge models is connected.

Firmware update required!

Both the RedEdge-P Red and RedEdge-P Blue need to be updated to the latest firmware. The system will not operate if the firmware versions do not match. You can find the latest firmware available on the MicaSense Camera Firmware Download Page.

Instructions for updating the firmware can be found here: How to update your firmware.

Let's Get Started

1) Remove the Cables that are attached to the RedEdge-P Sensor Unit and Mount (Quickmount, SkyPort or OEM). Be care to press the tab and pull gently from the white bracket and never pull the wires of the cable. If you have a SkyPort save the COMM Cable (Long White Connectors on each end) as it needed in the DUAL system.

2) Remove the mount from the Single Sensor. Using the Hex Tool provided remove the 2 screws on the top of the Sensor that are on each side of the Mount. Save these screws and washers as they are needed later for the DUAL system.

3) Ensure the Blue or Green Sensor has the Wi-Fi Dongle attached to the USB port as you will not be able to add/remove it once the unit is mounted. Also note the Red-Edge-P Serial Number as it will be covered up by the mount bracket once assembled.

4) Place the clear washers on the 3 holes of the RedEdge-P Sensor Unit as pictured below.

5) Apply a small amount of Loctite to 3 provided hex screws.

6) Place the Mount Bracket over the 3 holes and place 3 hex screws with loctite and hand tighten.

7) If the Blue/Green Sensor unit is already mounted jump to step 9. Otherwise Place 3 washers on the Blue/Green Sensors as pictured below.

8) apply a small amount of Loctite to 3 provided hex screws.

9) place the Mount Bracket over the 3 holes and place 3 provided hex screws with loctite and hand tighten.

10) Attach the Quick Mount or SkyPort Mount to the bracket with the 2 Screws from Step 2.

11) If using a SkyPort Mount attached the COMM cable to the SkyPort mount and the other end to the RED Main Sensor Unit.

12) Attach the REP DUAL Power/DLS2 splitter cable with RED to Main and Blue/Green as AUX.

12) Ensure the Wi-Fi Dongle is inserted to the RED Main Sensor.

Now the Sensors can be Powered on and configured following the guide below:
