Using Pix4Dcapture with MicaSense Sensors

In order to ensure proper overlap when using Pix4Dcapture to plan and fly missions with a MicaSense sensor, you will need to add your sensor to the Pix4Dcapture app as a custom camera.

To do this, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open the Pix4Dcapture app and select "Settings"

  2. Scroll down and select "Add custom camera..."

  3. Depending on the sensor you are using, the specifications may be different. Please see the chart below:

    Camera name RedEdge-M Altum
    Focal length[mm] 5.4 8.0
    Sensor width[mm] 4.8 7.12
    Image width[pixel] 1280 2064
    Image height[pixel] 960 1544
    Min. triggering interval 1 1

  4. Select "save" once you have entered in all of the sensor specifications

Please note: At this time, Pix4Dcapture is not capable of triggering the camera so you will need to set up the camera in autotrigger mode prior to flying. This process can be found in the MicaSense Sensor User Guide

Now you are ready to plan and fly your missions using Pix4Dcapture and your MicaSense sensor!
