The RedEdge camera uses SD cards that are SDHC format, supporting up to 32 GB of storage. If additional storage is desired, it is possible to connect a single board computer (SBC, such a Raspberry Pi) to the camera using the ethernet port and have the SBC copy the files from the SD card to a local storage device on the SBC. This is intended for use with overlap mode. You may experience issues if using timer mode with a capture rate of 1 capture/sec because this is too fast for the script.
The guide attached to this article provides instructions and a link to sample source code for the Raspberry Pi to implement this functionality.
