The RedEdge camera is designed for operation outdoors with normal lighting. Some of the filters have a very narrow bandwidth (10 nm) so the amount of light available to the sensor is small to begin with. Under normal outdoor lighting conditions, image quality should be very good. Exposure times are typically less than 2 ms so motion blur is not so much of an issue.
When capturing images indoors, low light conditions can cause the gain of the imagers to be very high, resulting in noisy-looking images (white specks throughout the image). Exposure times can also be quite high. This is normal and expected for low-light conditions.
